Ecosystem Restoration Project at the Yagirala Forest Reserve
In celebration of World Environment Day 2026, The Eden Beruwala, in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainability, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, launched an ecosystem restoration project at the Yagirala Forest Reserve. As the first phase of the project, 150 native trees were planted to help rehabilitate the ecosystem, enhance biodiversity, and support the recovery of the forest reserve.

Eden Beruwala proudly launched its first Butterfly Garden at Moragalla Junior School. Students and teachers engaged in awareness sessions, learning about the crucial role butterflies play in our ecosystems. The aim was to inspire the younger generation to cherish nature and actively protect our environment for a sustainable future.
Enhancing the Water Retention Capacity of Mala Dola Ella
The “Enhancing the Water Retention Capacity of Mala Dola Ella" During the Dry Season” project launched on 11.08.2024 with 30 plants out of the planned 300 plants. The current total is 155. This is done in order to restore the water catchment area and increase the water yield at "Mala Dola Ella" in Agalawattha by replanting native trees such as Mee and Kumbuk.
World Children's Day 2024
On Children’s Day at Occidental Eden Beruwala, we hosted Grade 10 & 11 students from Aluthgama for a CSR activity. Through our awareness program, they learned about exciting career opportunities in the hospitality industry and how to achieve their dreams. Together, we’re paving the way for a brighter future!
