Kammala-Waikkal Beach Clean-Up for World Oceans Day 2026
In commemoration of World Ocean Day, Club Hotel Dolphin carried out a beach clean-up at Kammala-Waikkal Beach. Team members worked together to collect and properly dispose of waste along the shoreline, supporting efforts to protect marine ecosystems and maintain the natural beauty of the coastal environment.
Community clean up and Plastic collection initiative
In celebration of World Environment Day 2026, Club hotel dolphin organized a clean-up campaign along the Waikkal - Bolawatta stretch and as part of the initiative a plastic collection point was also established.
World Environmental Education Day 2026 : Visit to Anawilundawa Wetland Sanctuary
In celebration of World Environmental Education Day, Club Hotel Dolphin staff members and few guests participated in an educational visit to the Anawilundawa Wetland Sanctuary to enhance their understanding of wetland conservation, mangrove ecosystems and Nypa plants.
Disaster Relief Initiative for Flood-Affected Communities in Badalgama
To support communities affected by flooding in Badalgama due to Cyclone Ditwah, Club Hotel Dolphin’s Human Resources team spearheaded a disaster relief initiative. Essential items, including food, clothing and hygiene supplies, were collected and distributed to those in need.
Club Hotel Dolphin Leads Mangrove Conservation Awareness Initiative
Club Hotel Dolphin in celebration of the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, organized a mangrove conservation awareness session and field visit at our very own mangrove nursery and surrounding ecosystem. The session was conducted by Mr. Sumanadasa a former NARA officer, and was attended by students from Gonsalvez College - Bolawatta along with our hotel guests.
Replanting the Future: First Nipa Palm Transplanting Event
On February 4th, 2025, Club Hotel Dolphin marked World Wetlands Day and Sri Lanka’s Independence Day by transplanting Nipa Palms (Nypa fruticans) along the Gin Oya riverbanks. Part of the Nipa Palm Conservation Project, launched in July 2024, this initiative, guided by experts, aims to combat erosion and restore ecosystems—reinforcing Browns Hotels & Resorts’ commitment to sustainability.
Nipa Palm Special Awareness Stamp
Club Hotel Dolphin, part of Browns Hotels & Resorts, launched a special awareness stamp with the Sri Lanka Postal Department on World Tourism Day, 27th September, to promote the Nipa Palm Conservation Project. Key guests included Professor Sevvandi Jayakody, Nishantha Edirisinghe, and Graham Marshall. The First Day Cover and stamp, unveiled by Rajitha K. Ranasinghe, aim to raise awareness for this
