Sustainability & CSR Initiatives

At The Calm Resort & Spa, we are deeply committed to our community and the environment. We believe that our success as a top-tier hotel is intertwined with the well-being of our employees, the community, and the conservation of the environment. Recognizing the importance of achieving a balance between environmental sustainability and community development, we have undertaken various initiatives to ensure that we move forward responsibly. Through these efforts, we strive to be a leader in environmental stewardship and community engagement.

Workshop

A workshop was held in order to educate the A-Level Students of Valaichchenai Hindu College on the "Importance of Tourism in Sri Lanka". This was to give them an insight on the current trends in the field.

Renovations

(ONGOING) Renovation of washrooms at Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) at Valaichchenai Base Hospital (Frequency every 03 months).

Nature project

(ONGOING) The project focuses on "Creating Nature for Life" and "Creating Life" in Pasikudah, Kalkudah, Valachchinei, and nearby areas. It aims to identify areas needing intervention for environmental enhancement and life promotion, including conservation and rejuvenation efforts.

Beach Cleanup

On the 04/12/2023 a beach cleanup program was held in order to collect trash along the coast line near to the hotel. The team managed to collect a significant amount of trash that would have eventually ended up harming the marine life.
