Thaala Bentota, the famous Bawa-designed coastal retreat unfurled its highly anticipated Christmas tree lighting ceremony with an entertaining evening featuring mulled wine, delightful canapés, carols and the festive presence of Santa, bringing gifts and surprises for the children. Channa Ekanayake, General Manager of the hotel led the proceedings, providing insight into the property’s successful holiday season. The event not only marked the beginning of the festive season but also emphasised its commitment to creating memorable experiences for guests.
Club Hotel Dolphin, one of the famous family getaway destinations under Browns Hotels & Resorts, also underwent an enchanting transformation with their Christmas tree lighting event, where the 14-acre Negombo beachfront paradise was lit up, leaving guests in awe of a majestic 10 foot-tall Nutcracker. The occasion was graced by the Bishop of Galle, Raymond Wickramasinghe and featured a singing Christmas tree with the Angel Choir resonating through the air in a symphony of joy. General Manager Thurashat Niyathapala commented on the hotel’s commitment to eco-conscious celebrations, where the property showcased natural and sustainable festal decorations.
