Conservation and Development of Kaludiya Pokuna

As the countries first public-private partnership with the Department of Archaeology, Paradise Dambulla is proud to support the conservation and sustainable development of the historic Kaludiya Pokuna and its hidden cave network. This initiative aims to create a more meaningful visitor experience while safeguarding this remarkable heritage site for generations to come.

Plastic Free Sigiriya – A United Effort to Preserve Heritage

Paradise Dambulla, together with Hotel Sigiriya and Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort, led the “Plastic Free Sigiriya” clean-up initiative on 20th June 2025. In partnership with the Department of Archaeology Matale Region and with the support of the Sri Lanka Army, Police, Municipal Council and local communities, the team carried out lake cleaning, plastic waste collection, and awareness campaigns.

Introducing Paradise Green Farm at Paradise Dambulla, our commitment to sustainability starts here. Nestled within the resort, this organic garden supplies fresh, homegrown produce for healthier meals and greener choices. Every harvest supports mindful hospitality and a better tomorrow.

Supporting special needs education

The Paradise Dambulla collaborated with the Community Development Project Team of the University of Colombo to support their valuable initiative, Project “විමංසා”. The project aimed to enhance the learning environment and educational experience of students with special needs at Ambanpitiya Special College in Kegalle.

A Platform for Local Women Entrepreneurs

On January 2025, The Paradise Dambulla opened it's doors for local artistry and empowers women by showcasing handmade crafts from talented community members. Each piece tells a story, and every purchase supports a brighter future. Designed with sustainability in mind, the interior highlights natural materials. We are empowering women for a brighter future.

Migratory Bird Day 2024

To celebrate International Migratory Bird Day on May 11, 2024, Browns Hotels & Resorts hosted a workshop at The Paradise Dambulla for students and trainee naturalists. Led by environmental expert Mr. Medhisha Gunawardena, the event featured sessions on migratory birds and bird-watching. It concluded with an art competition, inspiring creativity and appreciation for these fascinating birds.

World Photography Day 2024

The Paradise Dambulla partnered with the University of Colombo for World Photography Day, offering students an immersive eco-friendly workshop with accommodation, transport, and meals. Guided by experts like Professors Sarath Kotagama and Suranga Silva, students explored the resort’s stunning surroundings, honing photography skills while learning about responsible tourism.
